Life Transitions & Emotional Wellbeing Counselling

Support through change, uncertainty, and feeling stuck

Life changes can be challenging — even the ones we choose.

Sometimes the things that once felt manageable start feeling harder. You might find yourself questioning who you are, what you want, or why you don’t feel the way you expected to.

You may not feel like you are in crisis, but you know something doesn’t feel quite right.

At Ren Solomon Counselling, I provide life transitions and emotional wellbeing counselling in Malvern and online across Australia, supporting adults and young people (15+) as they navigate change, uncertainty, and challenging periods of life.

When Life Feels Different

There are times when life asks us to adjust — to new roles, new circumstances, unexpected challenges, or changes in how we see ourselves.

You might be experiencing:

• Relationship changes or difficulties

• Separation or divorce

• Family challenges

• Parenting stress or changing family roles

• Study, career, or workplace transitions

• Grief and loss

• Health-related changes

• Changes in identity, confidence, or purpose

• Feeling stuck despite things seeming "fine" on the outside

• A sense that you don't quite feel like yourself anymore

Sometimes the hardest transitions are the ones other people don't recognise as difficult.

You Don't Need a Specific Problem to Seek Counselling

Many people put off counselling because they think:

"Other people have it worse."

"I should be able to manage this."

"I don't even know what I would talk about."

But counselling isn't only for moments of crisis.

Sometimes it’s a space to pause, reflect, understand yourself better, and explore what you need moving forward.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.

Navigating Change and Uncertainty

Change can bring up complicated emotions.

Even positive life changes can involve grief, uncertainty, stress, or a shift in identity.

Counselling can support you to:

• Make sense of what you're experiencing

• Understand your emotions and reactions

• Build confidence and self-awareness

• Recognise patterns that may be keeping you stuck

• Develop healthier coping strategies

• Explore what feels meaningful and important to you

Together, we work at your pace to better understand where you are and where you would like to go.

Relationship, Family & Personal Challenges

Relationships are a significant part of our wellbeing.

Counselling can provide support when you are navigating:

• Communication difficulties

• Changing relationships

• Family stress

• Conflict or disconnection

• Boundary setting

• Feeling responsible for everyone else

• Losing your sense of yourself while caring for others

Having a confidential space outside your usual support network can allow you to explore your experiences openly and honestly.

Young Adults & Life Direction

The transition from adolescence into adulthood can bring enormous pressure.

Study decisions, career choices, friendships, relationships, independence, and expectations about the future can feel overwhelming.

I support young people (15+) and young adults navigating:

• Stress and uncertainty

• Identity and confidence

• School, university, or workplace pressures

• Changing friendships

• Emotional overwhelm

• Finding their own path

A Compassionate and Practical Approach

My approach to counselling is warm, collaborative, and practical.

We will explore not only what has happened, but how it has impacted you and what support you need moving forward.

I draw on evidence-based counselling approaches while recognising that every person's circumstances, strengths, and experiences are different.

Counselling is not about being told what to do — it's about having support while you work out what feels right for you.

Therapy with Woof 🐾

For clients who find comfort in the presence of animals, sessions with Woof, my trained therapy dog, may be available by request.

Woof provides a calm, grounding presence and can help create a welcoming counselling environment.

Therapy dog sessions are always optional and discussed beforehand.

Life Transitions Counselling in Malvern & Online

If you're navigating change, feeling stuck, or trying to make sense of a difficult stage of life, you don't have to work through it alone.

Ren Solomon Counselling provides life transitions and emotional wellbeing counselling from The Malvern Rooms in Malvern, Melbourne, and online across Australia.

You don't need to know exactly what you need before reaching out — we can start there together.
